Treadmill Desk

My office has a brand new treadmill desk! Of course I had to sign up and try it out immediately. It was weird at first keying in 0.8 mph on a treadmill (normally when I’m on a treadmill I’m sprinting out a workout). However, I found it difficult to type if I went any faster.Continue reading “Treadmill Desk”

Wheel pose by American River Bike Trail, Sacramento (Day 2)

Another beautiful run on the American River Bike Trail. This time my husband joined me and we took an asana break midrun. Wheel pose (Urdhva Dhanurasana) to stretch out my back by the water. This map shows all the parking entrances, key landmarks, horse trails, fishing spots etc. The picture above is by mile markerContinue reading “Wheel pose by American River Bike Trail, Sacramento (Day 2)”

Running tour of Sacramento – American River Bike Trail

Sacramento knows the key to my heart -> 32 miles of trail by the river. The American River Bike Trail (or the Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail)  is one of the longest paved trails in the country.  Even in the “winter” with 45*F and barren trees it was still beautiful. There are also a lot of side dirt pathsContinue reading “Running tour of Sacramento – American River Bike Trail”

New Year’s Eve 5K + Yoga class: running and OM-ing into 2014

I spent the last day of 2013 doing all of my favorite things: I took a great class at Laughing Lotus Yoga, snuggled up with a book and the pups, spent time with my husband, prayed/reflected then ran a 5K just before midnight. The class I took at Laughing Lotus Yoga was PACKED. As toContinue reading “New Year’s Eve 5K + Yoga class: running and OM-ing into 2014”

Philadelphia Marathon 2013: Finish strong

The 2013 Philly Marathon was excellent! It held all the things I love about running: individual struggles and triumphs, community, excitement,  unveiled strengths and passion. Marathon #3, this was my first “big city” marathon – #1 and #2 were smaller races that I picked for the super flat courses. As soon as I got off theContinue reading “Philadelphia Marathon 2013: Finish strong”

Running together, apart

Last Saturday, a few running friends and I ran 20 miles of the NYC marathon course. I got so excited when I noticed that they put up the route flags along the course in Brooklyn & Queens. Even though I’m not running NYC (my friends are but I’m running Philly marathon on Nov 17), IContinue reading “Running together, apart”

Running through step-backs

It’s been awhile since I have written a blog entry – summer turned insane for me between work, travel, training for marathon #2 and life in general. It’s been a rough past 12 months but I am discovering my true self in the process and counting my blessings; I’m preparing for a life reset. The thingContinue reading “Running through step-backs”
