Running tour of North Carolina (part 3) – Raleigh

Neuse River Greenway Trail

Neuse River Greenway Trail

Raleigh, a runner’s paradise. The Capital Area Greenway system has over 67 miles of trail (paved and unpaved). The longest single stretch, Neuse River Trail is 27.5 miles long – Be still my running heart. They also win the award for the most frequent and clear trail markings; posting the mileage every 1/4 of a mile plus “street signs” pointing to other trails.

As you can see from the pictures the sights are pure beauty as the trail follows Neuse River. After my husband and I enjoyed our 7-mile run, I followed it up with a few yoga poses by the river.
