What I’m eating – dessert free and raw

I have an extreme sweet tooth, regularly eating dessert every single day. This is something I’ve been able to write off as a non-problem since I also run 30-40 miles a week. Now I’m trying something new. I am on day 5 of a 21 day dessert free (limited sugar) diet.

It’s actually not as bad as I feared. When, I find myself wanting to snack on sweet things I just chose a healthy alternatives. My go-to snacks are:

  • Dried apricots
  • Frozen organic blueberries
  • Go raw: chocolate super “cookies” (made from coconut, sprouted sesame seeds, dates and cacao)
  • Dried mango
  • Dried apple slices
  • Fresh or frozen Bananas

Continuing the week of new things, I also juiced raw sweet potato for the first time. I have been intrigued ever since I saw a juice recipe calling for sweet potato in the Juicing Bible book. Turns out it tastes great. As I type, I’m sipping on juiced beet greens, sweet potato, carrots and lettuce…. in a wine glass because even people who don’t drink alcohol like fancy glassware 😉
